Last month we discussed tablets, a market that continues to grow exponentially. However, you may not be aware of how they differ from laptops or what other new means of staying connected as a realtor are available. After all, there are tried and true methods that may be a more reliable bet than one that's still in its relative infancy.
Perhaps the biggest difference with a tablet is portability. A laptop is generally bulkier and has better performance but it comes at a sacrifice to size and battery life, an area where a modern tablet shines. IF you need to do some heavy duty video editing to put on your real estate website design, a laptop may be a better option even if a device like the iPad is capable of editing video.
Speaking of laptops, you can also opt for something like a netbook which comes closest to mimicking the portability of a tablet with the conveniences of laptop such as a physical keyboard, better multitasking and greater space for pictures and video.
Recently, Google has unveiled its Chromebook which runs a proprietary operating system (Chrome OS) but is designed for people who do most of their business online. Similar to Android phones, a Chromebook works impeccably with Google's services so for realtors who rely on Gmail and such, it might be worth a look even though Chrome OS is still very much in its infancy.
Which platform do you use to stay connected?
